We’re back at MSTF in Porec for 5 days of tanning and dancing. The first evening was kind of unusual, since the milonga started with 2 hours of meditation in front of a TV screen (Argentina-Netherlands: 1-0 in penalties) and we discovered that Porec has active knowledge of the concept of ‘rain’.
This year was the 10th anniversary of the Brussels Tango Festival, the one that got me started in photos. Together with my partner in crime Panni, we took thousands of pictures on the afternoon milongas, evening salons and special events. We also had 6 visiting photographers in the festival, and their photos, together with the Paparazzo ones, can be found on the official photo album of the Brussels Tango Festival.
I was allowed to escape the Belgian rain season for a weekend and go to the place where Europe touches Asia and tango thrives. I never have been that spoilt in open-air milongas (roof top! swimming pool! Bosphorus bridges with light show!). Thanks to Aydogan & Sule for their warm welcome, to all the nice Turkish people I’ve met and to the numerous friends I had the pleasure of meeting again (Beirut represent!).
Just finished the Brussels Tango Festival!! It was the sixth time I was the photographer here and it was absolutely great. This year I introduced a dress code theme for each evening to liven up the photos, and they did just that. Here are the winners:
I like going to Sweden, so when I had the opportunity to shoot some pictures at the Tango 59° festival in Stockholm, I didn’t hesitate. I stayed with a friend near the city (thx, Michel!) and went to dance in the afternoon milongas at Stallet and the evening salons at Nalen. Most pictures here are taken during a 30-minute span at Nalen.
This year the Tangocamps really went in crescendo. Greece was the warmest, the fanciest and the most fun of them all. Of course, the fact that it was the last one made everyone feel like there was some fun to be made!
Third Tangocamp: Stenungsund (Sweden). We’re over half-way! In a really classy hotel with really nice people. It is so easy to make friends here.
And there’s also the memorable fancy dress milonga. This year the theme was: Flower Power!
