We spent the loveliest of long weekends in Bodrum, Turkey, shooting with Oyku and Egemen, of Tango48. One of our most memorable trips, full of turkish hospitality and delicious food. A dear memory with dear friends!
We just did the busiest festival we ever did, in Istanbul, Turkey. Maral, Esref & Murat organised the 7th edition of TanGOTOIstanbul, with 10 maestros, 5 big salons with demos, 3 concerts with two famous tango orchestras and much more. We shot an obscene amount of pictures over a span of 40 hours in 5 days. We loved the people there, the energy, and after the 5 days, the possibility of sleeping past noon.
Enjoy the pics here:
I was allowed to escape the Belgian rain season for a weekend and go to the place where Europe touches Asia and tango thrives. I never have been that spoilt in open-air milongas (roof top! swimming pool! Bosphorus bridges with light show!). Thanks to Aydogan & Sule for their warm welcome, to all the nice Turkish people I’ve met and to the numerous friends I had the pleasure of meeting again (Beirut represent!).
